Call for Speakers: From Grain to Bread
Call for paper SAST conference autumn 2026
SAST invites speakers to submit presentation proposals for our conference in October 2026. Under the theme “From Grain to Bread”, we will explore how quality is created throughout the entire development journey—and how the right foundations enable effective testing and successful results.
Call for Speakers: From Grain to Bread
SAST is looking for speakers for our upcoming conference the 23:d of October 2026.The theme of the conference is “From Grain to Bread” — inspired by the Swedish expression från ax till limpa. It represents the complete journey from an initial idea to a finished product that delivers real value. Quality is not something that can be added at the end. It is shaped by decisions made throughout the entire journey: how we understand the need, formulate requirements, design the solution, develop the product, organise collaboration, prepare for testing, deliver the result, and learn from its use.
We invite you to share experiences, methods, research, and ideas that show how quality contributes to successful outcomes and creates the right conditions for effective testing.
What are we looking for? Your presentation may focus directly on testing or on another part of the development journey that supports quality and good testing practices.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
- Turning business needs into clear and testable requirements
- Designing systems for quality, resilience, and testability
- Collaboration between business, development, testing, and operations
- Building quality into agile and DevOps ways of working
- Test strategy, exploratory testing, and test automation
- AI in testing, quality engineering, and software development
- Quality leadership, culture, and organisational change
- Measuring quality and connecting it to customer and business value
- Lessons learned from successes, failures, and unexpected outcomes
We welcome practical case studies, research, new approaches, and honest stories about what worked—and what did not.
You do not need to be an experienced conference speaker. What matters is that you have useful knowledge, a relevant experience, or a perspective that can inspire and help others in the testing and quality community.
- Your proposed presentation title
- A short abstract describing the presentation
- Three key takeaways for the audience
- Your name, role, and organisation
- A short speaker biography
- Your preferred presentation length and type
The SAST conference committee will review all submissions and select the presentations that together create a relevant, varied, and engaging programme.
Submit your proposal to the SAST board no later than 1:st of September.
Help us explore the complete journey—from the first grain of an idea to a finished product that delivers quality and real value.
We look forward to hearing from you!
